Anna Hopkins

Originally from Montreal, Anna Hopkins now splits her time between Los Angeles and Toronto. She is a versatile talent, working in front and behind the camera. Anna has worked extensively in film and television as an actor, from starring alongside Paul Giamatti in critically acclaimed BARNEY’S VERSION to playing fan favourite series regulars and recurring characters on television shows such as SHADOWHUNTERS (Netflix) (a role that earned her a Teen Choice nomination for Choice TV Villain), ARROW (CW) and BAD BLOOD (Netflix). In conjunction with acting, she is busy developing original material. Her short film directorial debut, THE GIVE AND TAKE was a recipient of a bravoFACT! production grant, and has enjoyed a great festival run including the Austin Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Cinequest and many more in North America and abroad. The short film was then picked up by Dust, Gunpowder and Sky’s sci-fi online streaming service. On the writing side,  Anna’s pilot screenplay THE BREAKAWAYS has recently been optioned by New Metric Media (LETTERKENNY, BAD BLOOD), a story drawing from her experiences of working in the Montreal night club scene. In front of the camera, Anna recently wrapped on feature film TIN CAN, Seth A. Smith’s new bio-sci-fi film where she is playing the lead role, and she just finished shooting her second season of THE EXPANSE (Amazon Prime) where she plays recurring character Monica Stuart, an investigative journalist digging into the complex world of the critically acclaimed space opera. Anna was named one of “9 Canadian film talents changing the way we tell stories “by NOW Magazine 2019.
